Don’t get tangled up in the price of rope vs the price of a good ratchet strap. Although you can buy any old rope for a few cents per foot, a 200 pound couch tied with a loose knot would make you glad you bought liability insurance! The benefits of ratchet straps are many, namely they have an even higher weight rating than most ropes and they can also tighten around the couch instead of having to guess where to put your knot.

Remember, any ratchet strap you can find at a hardware store will be stronger than whatever you can tie it to in a moving truck.
