Are Moving Companies in College Station Safe?
Your next lease starts in a week and you decide to start packing up as much as possible to prepare. You book your U-Haul reservation and ask your friend if they’re free to help lift that huge couch that may or may not fit through your front door—then you realize how much stuff you actually have and start to wonder if you should just hire a moving company…
As the owner of a moving business, I’ve seen and transported a huge range of furniture volume from 1 bedroom to 4,000+ square feet of house. Although it always depends on your budget, I’m going to discuss the benefits of hiring some help versus doing it yourself.
First, the main expense of any moving business is labor, which is provided as part of the base rate. If you don’t have a few close friends available and willing, moving large pieces of furniture is near impossible and even harder without dollies and hand-trucks.
Next, there is a lot of equipment the pros have that many renters and even homeowners don’t such as aforementioned dollies, blankets, ratchet straps, rope, Tetris experience, etc. At Aggie Packers, we provide all this along with an owned truck so our customers don’t have to patchwork together labor, equipment, and transport.
Arguably the most important part of hiring a company (that you hopefully will never even use) is insurance. If you have to rent a truck and get into an accident at your own fault, your insurance claim and all associated fees are coming out of your pocket. If you outsource the risk to a moving company a wreck caused by their driver will go through their insurance policy and won’t come back to you. That risk is wrapped up in the initial moving rate and their state-required cargo insurance is what protects your things from the unsurety of the road.
All these things make it worthwhile to ask for help when relocating and Aggie Packers is ready when you are to get things moving!
